How I became a Certified Sleep Consultant

MY STORY
My journey into sleep consulting began in 2022, while working as a nanny for a family whose daughter had already been sleep trained. For the first time, I experienced what healthy sleep truly looks like inside a home.
Bedtime was calm and predictable. She fell asleep easily, slept through the night, and woke up happy and rested. Her parents were confident and balanced, and as her nanny, I felt that stability too. Our days flowed smoothly, routines felt natural, and caregiving was sustainable. That experience showed me how deeply sleep affects a family’s entire dynamic.
In 2024, I worked full-time with a newborn whose sleep experience was completely different. Naps were short and inconsistent, nights were filled with frequent wake-ups, and exhaustion affected everyone in the home. Each day began already tired. I spent hours rocking, bouncing, guessing, and trying to soothe without clear direction.
Eventually, the family hired a professional pediatric sleep consultant. The change was immediate. With a structured plan, gentle guidance, and clear expectations, the baby learned to sleep independently. By the third night, he slept through the night for the first time. His mood improved, the parents felt restored, and my role became calmer, more predictable, and sustainable.
Seeing that transformation again changed everything. I realized how powerful sleep support can be — not just for babies, but for caregivers and families as a whole.
That experience led me to become certified through the Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting. I created Time To Sleep based on a simple phrase I used every night as a nanny — “time to sleep.” Over time, it became a familiar, reassuring cue the baby recognized as safe and predictable. That same philosophy guides my work today: clear routines, emotional safety, and gentle consistency.
MY GENTLE SLEEP TRAINING APPROACH
specialize in gentle, responsive sleep training that prioritizes connection, emotional safety, and gradual progress.
I do not use Cry-It-Out methods. While some families choose that approach, the parents who come to me are looking for something calmer, more supportive, and aligned with their values.
Every sleep plan is:
-
Personalized to your baby’s temperament
-
Adapted to your family’s comfort level
-
Built around your current routine and sleep goals
Whether you’re:
-
Co-sleeping or room sharing
-
Transitioning to a crib
-
Struggling with frequent night wakings
-
Wanting a slow, gentle approach
I create strategies that work inside your real home, not generic schedules.
Sleep training is never one-size-fits-all. I explain the why behind each step so you feel confident, informed, and supported throughout the process.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER
Families see results because they receive:
-
A clear, customized sleep plan
-
Ongoing guidance and emotional support
-
Structure without rigidity
-
Expert insight from both a caregiver and certified sleep consultant
-
You’re never left guessing what to do next. I guide you step by step, adjusting as your baby responds.
While every child is different and results can’t be guaranteed, most families see meaningful improvements within the first week. Many babies begin sleeping through the night in 7 days or less, with progress often starting within the first few nights.
